A CME was conducted in association with World Cancer Day titled "Close the care gap; What a young doctor should know about cancer care?" on 04-02-2023 6.00 PM to 8.00 PM. It was organised by TOC,KASO and AMPOK. The CME was held at Knowledge Centre Near Principals Office, Govt Medical College TVM. The object of the CME was to make the delegates understand latest nuances in cancer diagnosis and care the importance of practicing medicine with oncology perspectives. The welcome speech was delivered by Dr.Vasudevan S. The CME was inaugurated by Dr.Kala Kesavan, Principal , GMCT . Dr. Priya Mary Jacob talked about Onco-pathology in the era of personalised medicine. She described in detail how flow cytometry and cytogenetics has helped better treatment in haematooncology.  Imaging for diagnosis and staging of cancer ; from man to machine was presented by Dr. Anil Prahladan.He narrated his experience with AI in radiodiagnosis. Dr. Deepa Susan Joy Philip spoke about Molecular Oncology and Personalised Cancer Care. She carefully examined the subject in both the perspective of physician and patient.Dr. Rajeev.K.R spoke about " Technical Advances and Artificial Intelligence in Cancer Therapy".He narrated the progress in radiation oncology with technological advances in science. Panel discussion was conducted on the topic " Close the Care Gap; What a young doctor should know about cancer care?" by  Dr. Chandramohan.K and Dr. Boban Thomas. The meeting was attended by 80 Postgraduate students from various departments in MCh and other colleges.Senior members of TCMC Alumni Dr.Elizabeth (Paediatrics),Dr Sivasankaran(Cardiology)Dr.Kavitha Ravi (Pathology) and Dr Lakshmi (Physiology)spoke in the meeting .The meeting was followed by Dinner.
